Cingular/AT&T definitely has one of the best family plans. There is one family plan, where you buy one phone and every phone after that is 9.99 a month with up to 4 or 5 free phones. They also have text plans. I have a 300 text and internet plan for 20 a month. Plus, Cingular/AT&T has very good reception.
I hear Verizon has a pretty good phone plan too, but i’m not too familiar with Verizon. I’ve been a Cingular member for well over 5 years.

Verizon is the best service provider. They have way better signal than t-mobile. Sad but true. Because I looked at their coverage and changed my mind. Rite now I have the LG 9×00. I watch TV on it all the time. And if you do alot of texting, you could just get the envy. it has the full keyboard just like the sidekick.

I have T-mobile and am happy with this service because we get free mobile-to-mobile minutes. If you’re looking for a family plan, you should make sure the other companies have that because you would save a LOT of money with that product. You can also add unlimited text messaging with T-mobile’s service (which I also have).
Unfortunately,new electronics, Verizon’s network tops T-mobile and probably has less dropped calls. I don’t have a lot but the few times my calls have dropped have been irritating – so that’s something to consider if it might be an issue with other members of the family.
Personally, I’d choose the plan that gives you the most for your dollar because bottom line, most have decent enough network coverage.

I would say T-mobile because its just awesome u have a family that deserves good service and you will probably want a family plan with my faves, u can get to talk to them with unlimited minutes u say theres 5 people and my faves give u exactly 5 so is it fate or just plain irony i don’t know… but T-mobile is is just plain awesome
oh and sidekicks are the best teenager phones out to date hands down 100% I’ve heard of people actually breaking contracts just to get a T-mobile sidekick, "Sidekick LX" and "Sidekick Slide" come out in like 3 weeks so if you want to snag one quick, Id definetly say join T-mobile
